Grid connected solar photovoltaic power generation system power stations are divided into off grid (independent) systems and grid connected solar photovoltaic power generation systems. Now let's talk about the difference between the two: when users choose to install solar photovoltaic power plants, they first need to confirm whether to use off grid solar photovoltaic power plants or grid connected solar photovoltaic systems. These two systems have different functions. Of course, the components of grid connected solar photovoltaic power generation systems are also different, and the cost also varies greatly.

(1) Off grid solar photovoltaic power stations, also known as independent photovoltaic power stations, are systems that operate independently of the power grid. It mainly consists of photovoltaic solar panels, energy storage batteries, charge and discharge controllers, inverters, etc. The electricity generated by photovoltaic panels flows directly into the battery and is stored. When it is necessary to supply power to electrical appliances, the DC current in the battery is converted into 220V AC through an inverter, which is a cycle of repeated charging and discharging. This type of photovoltaic solar power station is widely used due to its unrestricted geographical location. As long as there is sunlight, it can be installed and used. Very suitable for remote areas without power grids, isolated islands, fishing boats, outdoor breeding bases, etc. It can also be used as an emergency power generation equipment in areas with frequent power outages.

Off grid photovoltaic solar power stations must be equipped with batteries, which account for 30-50% of the cost of the power generation system. Batteries can usually be used for 3-5 years, after which they need to be replaced, which increases costs. Economically speaking, it is difficult to widely use, so it is not suitable for use in places with sufficient electricity.

But for households in areas without a power grid or with frequent power outages, it is very practical. Especially to solve the lighting problem during power outages, DC energy-saving lamps can be used, which are very practical. Therefore, off grid photovoltaic solar power stations are specifically designed for areas without a power grid or with frequent power outages.

(2) The grid connected solar photovoltaic power generation system refers to the power generation system that must be connected to the public power grid, namely solar photovoltaic power stations, household power grids, and public power grids. This is a photovoltaic solar system that must operate on the existing power grid. It mainly consists of photovoltaic solar panels and inverters. The light emitted by photovoltaic solar panels is directly converted into 220-380V through an inverter.

AC power provides power for household appliances. When the electricity generated by rooftop solar power plants exceeds the usage of household appliances, the excess electricity will be sent to the public grid; The power generation capacity of the grid connected solar photovoltaic power generation system cannot meet the needs of household appliances, and it will automatically replenish electricity from the grid. The entire process is intelligently controlled without the need for manual switches.
