On May 7, U.S. domestic solar module manufacturer SEG Solar announced a major manufacturing expansion plan in Houston, Texas. The company will construct a brand-new 4GW solar module factory, covering nearly 500,000 square feet with a total investment exceeding 200 million U.S. dollars. The new facility is expected to create up to 800 local jobs and officially commence commercial operation in the third quarter of 2026.

Once completed, the new 4GW plant will complement SEG Solar's existing 2GW module production capacity in Texas, bringing the company's total annual PV module capacity in the United States to approximately 6GW.
Beyond its U.S. expansion, SEG Solar has been actively deploying its layout across the global photovoltaic and energy storage sectors. In the solar industry, the company has unveiled plans to build a 5GW solar ingot and wafer manufacturing plant in Indonesia, with construction scheduled to start in the second quarter of 2026. Upon full completion, the project will enable SEG Solar to establish a fully vertically integrated supply chain covering ingot, wafer, solar cell, and PV module production.
In the energy storage sector, SEG Solar officially launched its new division SEG Energy in Indonesia on March 26 this year, marking its formal entry into the global solar energy storage market. SEG Energy offers residential energy storage systems integrated with the SEG Home App, as well as tailored energy storage solutions for commercial, industrial and utility-scale projects, all equipped with professional energy management systems.
The strategic moves signal that SEG Solar is transforming from a pure solar module supplier into a comprehensive solar-plus-storage energy service provider. The layout will not only meet the surging energy transition demand in Indonesia but also help the company secure long-term growth opportunities in the U.S. renewable energy market.
