Another Company Plans To Invest in Building A 9GW Inverter Factory in The United States

TME IC Corporation, a Japanese industrial group, announced plans to establish a centralized solar photovoltaic inverter factory in the United States with an initial annual production capacity of 9GW. It is scheduled to enter commercial operation in October 2024 and may expand according to market demand in the future.

 

The factory covers an area of 144000 square feet and is located in Brook Hill, Texas, near its existing uninterruptible power supply and medium voltage drive manufacturing plant in Katie. It will be established and operated by its US subsidiary TMEIC Corporation Americas.

 

TMEIC is a company specializing in the production of solar photovoltaic inverters and energy storage systems. The company stated that since entering the US market in 2010, it has installed over 28GW of renewable energy systems in North America. As of July 2024, the company has installed over 50GW of renewable energy systems worldwide.

 

The company will also relocate its headquarters from Roanoke, Virginia to Houston, Texas in March 2025.
