According to data released by the German Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur), Germany's solar photovoltaic installed capacity declined in August after experiencing GW level growth for more than ten months, reaching only 790MW, far lower than the 1.47GW in August this year (previously announced data was 1.404GW, this update is 1.47GW), and the 1.37GW in the same period of 2023.
In August, the newly installed capacity of rooftop solar energy supported by EEG was 518.9 MW, lower than the 919.4 MW of the previous month; The installed capacity of the ground photovoltaic power station that won the bid through bidding in the current month was 154.4MW, which is also much lower than the 371.6MW in July; The open space project installed 76.4MW, compared to 109.6MW last month.
From January to August 2024, Germany added a total of 10.179GW of photovoltaic installed capacity, exceeding a cumulative total of 93GW. During the same period, onshore wind power added 1.3GW, offshore wind power added 635.1MW, and biomass energy added 97.6MW. The Federal Network Administration stated that the average monthly increase in photovoltaic installed capacity in September and beyond must reach 1.602 GW in order to achieve the government's goal of accumulating 215 GW of installed capacity by 2030.
