Recently, Meyerberg's new factory located in Goodyear, Arizona has passed UL testing standards and can begin production.
Meyerberg has delivered solar cells from its production base in Talheim, Germany to its US factory to support component production. The company stated that this will ensure an increase in production in the US market.
The company also plans to build a battery factory in Colorado, with production dependent on Section 45X financing under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). A large US bank has completed due diligence and is currently negotiating loan agreements.
Meyerberg's goal is to complete the transaction and receive payment by the middle of the third quarter. It also expects a German bank to provide export financing for US photovoltaic production, and has submitted a final application for a loan from the US Department of Energy to fund battery factories, which is currently under review.
We have negotiated a commercial agreement with an American industrial and technology group and exchanged a potential investment term list for Mayerberg. This strategic collaboration will enable Meyerberg to manufacture solar modules in the United States, with an increasing proportion of domestic components.
Meyerberg has signed multiple contracts with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) companies and energy suppliers to purchase its US made solar modules. It also signed a purchase contract with a large American energy company for up to 600 megawatts per year, agreeing to deliver for three years starting from 2026, with a two-year extension option. Meyerberg stated that once the financing for the Colorado Springs solar cell factory is completed, the agreement will begin.
In April of this year, Meyerberg closed its solar module factory in Freiberg, Saxony, after no agreement was reached within the federal government regarding measures taken by German and European photovoltaic manufacturers.
