On the evening of July 26th, Kelu Electronics announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary CL Energy Storage Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Kelu USA") has recently signed an Equipment Purchase Agreement for Battery Energy Storage System (hereinafter referred to as "the Contract") with GEA TRANSMISORA SpA, a subsidiary of Transelec S.A. (hereinafter referred to as "Transelec") in Chile. According to the contract agreement, Kelu USA will sell a total of 105MW/420MWh containerized battery energy storage systems to GEA.
The counterparty GEA is a company registered in Santiago, Chile, primarily engaged in the operation and development of power systems for the transportation or transmission of electrical energy. GEA's parent company Transelec was founded in 1943 and is a leading high-voltage transmission system supplier and power transmission company in Chile, with over 80 years of experience in the energy industry. Transelec develops and operates power infrastructure in Chile, currently operating 82 substations and over 10000 kilometers of transmission lines, providing electricity to approximately 98% of Chile's population.
The announcement states that the liquid cooled energy storage system solution used in this project has the advantages of excellent performance, system stability, cost balance, and fast installation. This project is a large-scale integrated system solution provided by the company as a system integrator to overseas clients, marking a new milestone in the company's transformation from an equipment supplier to a system integrator in the overseas energy storage market. It will help the company further expand into the energy storage market in the Americas, especially in South America.
