Germany Awards 317MW in Rooftop Solar Auction With Slight Price Increase

In the latest photovoltaic auction held in February, the German Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) awarded a total of 317 MW in capacity-primarily for rooftop photovoltaic projects.
Compared to the previous round, this auction saw a slight increase in the winning bid prices. The weighted average winning bid price was €0.091/kWh (approximately $0.098/kWh), up from €0.0904/kWh in the previous auction. Within this range, bids fell between a low of €0.079/kWh ($0.085/kWh) and a high of €0.0969/kWh ($0.10/kWh), all of which remain below the capped price of €0.104/kWh ($0.11/kWh).
The awarded projects are distributed across several federal states, with the following capacity allocations:
North Rhine-Westphalia: 78 MW
Lower Saxony: 49 MW
Saxony-Anhalt: 35 MW
Bavaria: 33 MW
Looking ahead, the next auction for rooftop photovoltaic and noise barrier photovoltaic projects is scheduled for June 1, 2025. The Federal Network Agency has set electricity price ceilings for these upcoming auctions at €0.104/kWh for rooftop projects, €0.068/kWh
