Recently, Maxeon Solar Technologies announced a business transformation strategy, focusing on serving the US market.
George Guo, CEO of Maxeon, stated, "As Maxeon intensifies its focus on the US market, our top priority is to further expand our continuously growing network of residential and commercial partners.

To implement this new strategy, the company announced that it will lease a factory in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with plans to operate a factory with a solar panel manufacturing capacity of 2GW by early 2026.

George Guo said that the company's module assembly plant can be deployed "quickly", and the company will continue to evaluate its long-term goal of establishing solar cell manufacturing capabilities.

In other markets, Maxeon and its major shareholder's parent company, TCL Technology Group, have reached a principled agreement to sell Maxeon's global sales and marketing organization to TCL Group, which will be incorporated into the newly established solar solutions business unit, TCL SunPower International. The two companies have agreed that TCL Group will acquire Maxeon's manufacturing operations in the Philippines.

"In addition to the United States, TCL SunPower plans to provide innovative and sustainable solar energy solutions for homeowners and businesses," said Kevin Wang, President and Chief Operating Officer of TCL Group. "These will include SunPower-branded solar energy solutions sold exclusively through existing SunPower brand installation partners, as well as TCL solar products sold through distribution channels."

Maxeon Solar Technologies, headquartered in Singapore, boasts over 40 years of history and 1,900 patents, designing solar panels for residential, commercial, and power plant customers. TCL Technology Group is a diversified global provider of display and solar-grade silicon material technology.
