SEG Solar, a Texas-based solar photovoltaic manufacturer, has initiated the construction of a vertically integrated solar photovoltaic industrial park in Indonesia. This ambitious project is set to have an annual production capacity of 5GW, covering the entire photovoltaic manufacturing process, including silicon ingots, wafers, solar cells, and modules. Upon completion, it will become Indonesia's largest integrated photovoltaic manufacturing facility.

The industrial complex is situated in Kawasan Industri Terpadu Batang, in Central Java Province. In the first phase, SEG Solar plans to establish 10 cutting-edge n-type solar cell production lines with a combined annual capacity of 5GW. The completion of this phase is expected by the second quarter of 2025.

To support Indonesia in building a comprehensive photovoltaic value chain, SEG Solar will partner with other key photovoltaic component suppliers. Together, they will develop manufacturing capabilities for essential components like silicon wafers, silicon ingots, junction boxes, frames, and EVA films. This collaboration will play a crucial role in fostering Indonesia's growing solar energy industry and establishing a robust domestic supply chain for photovoltaic technologies.
