According to the latest data provided by the Hungarian government, Hungary deployed approximately 1.3GW of new photovoltaic capacity in the first 10 months of 2024.

The Hungarian Ministry of Energy posted on Facebook that "Hungary's photovoltaic growth rate has significantly exceeded the 1GW threshold for the third consecutive year

In 2023, the country installed approximately 1.6GW of solar power generation capacity. This result set a record for Hungary over the years, with over 1.5 times the new production capacity added in 2022.

As of the end of October 2024, the country's cumulative installed solar capacity has reached 7.35GW, significantly exceeding the government's target of 6GW for solar energy by 2030.

The Ministry of Energy of the country stated, "This year not only achieved this goal, but also exceeded it by more than one-fifth

Of Hungary's cumulative solar installed capacity, 2.63GW comes from residential photovoltaic systems, while the rest comes from ground mounted facilities and C&I systems.

With the support of the NapenergiaPlusz program, approximately 288000 Hungarian households have installed residential photovoltaic systems, with a budget of 75.8 billion forints (218 million US dollars) to support modern solar panels and energy storage devices.

Hungary's goal is to achieve a solar power generation capacity of 12GW by the 1930s.
